The 1min short film NFT  “Delivery at Dawn” is a celebration of EIP-4844 arriving to mainnet, core Ethereum contributors and their ongoing stewardship. Over the last two years, the Ethereum community has collaborated to bring EIP-4844 to mainnet. This feature allows layer 2s to significantly reduce costs to their users. As a result, Ethereum’s unique capabilities are accessible to more people around the world! In 2023 we started thinking about how to mark this incredible accomplishment, and landed on an an animated short:

A child runs through a sleeping town: the stewards are arriving with their precious cargo! With the town’s help, they unload and release the magical water - it grows the town and expands possibilities. The town sends off the crew with gratitude as they continue with their stewardship.

See some short clips here and here. A community is measured by the breadth, depth, & variety of cultural artifacts it produces. “Delivery at Dawn" is a beautiful addition towards this - themes include strength in collaboration & Ethereum commons stewardship across generations.

Just as EIP-4844 would not be possible without the community contributions, the film features cameos from many community projects as residents of the town! These include Arbitrum, Base, Farcaster, Optimism, Nouns, Polygon, Scroll, Starknet, Uniswap, ZkSync, and Zora.

Here’s how the project came together:

• August 2023: Initial discussions: how can we create a compelling artifact which celebrates stewardship and the people involved?

• October 2023: funded by the Nouns Community in October 2023

• October 2023 - March 2024: brought to life by The Line, directed by Bjorn-Erik Aschim and produced by Macarena Gaset. Made in collaboration with Yitong Zhang (Nouns) and Trent Van Epps (Stateful Works)

• March 11-25: 🥳 MINT OPENS! 🥳 Available as a 2 week open edition on Zora! (exact details TBC) ETH proceeds will go to Protocol Guild: a collective of Ethereum core contributors.
